10 x 10 on 10/1/10   Application & Information

Thank you for participating in Brunswick’s third 10 x 10 benefit art show and sale on October 1, 2010.  This show is sponsored by Arts Are Elementary and Points of View Art Gallery in Brunswick, Maine.
The criteria for submitting artwork are listed below. Please note the deadlines on your calendar.


Art will hang in two or three gallery spaces on Pleasant Street in Brunswick; Morrell Meeting Room at Curtis Memorial Library at 23 Pleasant Street, St Paul’s Church Hall at 27 Pleasant Street, and possibly Very Special Arts Gallery 11 Pleasant St..

 

      Application information:

         •Artists may submit between one and three pieces
        Size of work must fall within a 10-inch square format.
        
•Canvas will be accepted only as 10”x 10” and up to 3/4 “ deep.
        Finished work must be ready to put into 10 x 10 black metal frames.

        •We provide 10 x 10 black metal frames, foam core and optional glass. No matting provided.

        •All works of art will be priced at $200. Proceeds from each sale will be divided equally between the                                    
          artist and Arts Are Elementary.

       •Frames on unsold work may be purchased by the artist for $25.

 

       Important dates:

            June 1-Deadline for application

            August 28-Deliver artwork to Curtis Memorial Library, Morrell Meeting Room, 9:30am-12:00pm

October 1-Public Preview 10-3; Show opening with reception, Friday night, 5-8pm

            
            October 2-
Take down show and artist pickup #1 at Library

            October 16-Artist pickup #2 at Library 9:30-noon

 

       Please bring with your artwork on August 28th:

             -Resume or bio, one page maximum

             -Artist’s statement, one page maximum-tell us about yourself, what inspires your work, how you became an artist, etc. Please submit  
              each page in a separate 3 ring binder plastic sleeve. They will be placed in a book for public viewing.

 

Artwork

              -Delivered dry, fixed, matted (if you choose), and ready for framing, to Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant Street, Brunswick on
               August 28, 2010.

 

Show PR

              Each artist will receive 20 post cards on August 28 when artwork is submitted.

              This show will be promoted heavily in the local press and by Five Rivers Arts Alliance which sponsors Brunswick’s Second Friday Art
              Walk. .


                  Applications are not accepted without payment of $10 application fee (which may be made online)
